Item: 1870s Virginia Star Pattern Quilt Hand Made
( Variation of the) Virginia Star Pattern. Twelve Blocks of pieced-point star, triple sashing with four square corner blocks. The 2-piece lining is of rough cotton sack fabric, and on one edge that has been a horizontal piece added. The edges are bound from back to front, and one edge is bound with chrome orange. This quilt contains brown, red and white blocks, with fabric stars of yellow and brown. This is hand-pieced and quilted, and in excellent condition. From a wall hanging to the bottom of a spare bedroom has a great feel. The size is 65 W x 83 1/2 L. The history of the quilt is between 1840 and 1870, possibly North Carolina in origin. 8545-YYP
