Item: Millsboro DE Trust Company Metal Still Bank
Manufactured by the Automatic Recording Safe Company in Chicago in the late 1920s, The Portable Safe is a small oval shaped chrome plated bank with a bail handle, that encouraged people to become savers. This example, with an oval tag inscribed Millsboro Trust Company 339 Millsboro, Delaware riveted to the side, comes with its original box and instruction booklet titled Saving Its Effect Upon Character and Success in Life, filled with quotes about finances from famous people and a 1927/1928 calendar. The bank measures about 3 inches tall with the handle by 3 1/2 inches wide and is in excellent condition with almost no wear. It is currently filled with old pennies and nickels, but is unfortunately missing its key. 17383-81QP
