Item: 1920-1930 AC Spark Plugs Metal Counter Top Display Very Rare
This rare tin drum shaped AC Spark Plug counter display dates from the 1920s or 1930s. The front panel is decorated in dark blue and orange with white trim and has an image of a firing spark plug. It is inscribed Buy spark plugs by name ask for AC The Standard Spark Plug of the World. The back is open, allowing access to a rotating box with slots on 2 sides to hold boxes of spark plugs. Paper sheets listing the spark plug applications were attached to the other 2 sides. This example still retains 1 of its sheets, listing obscure early brands of automobile like Ajax, Bauer, Davis, Kleiber, etc. The center shaft has a wooden ball knob at the top The display measures 18 inches tall by 14 inches in diameter and is in excellent condition with typical nicks and scratches and an 8 by 12 inch area on one side where the blue paint is spotted, probably due to sunlight exposure. 16798-71TRT
