Item: 1890s Victorian Brass Bicycle Figural Clock
This wonderful brass figural desk clock, manufactured in the 1890s by the British United Clock Company, would be an ideal gift for the ardent cyclist. It is made in the form of a bicyclist, standing cross legged, with one hand resting on the handlebars of his bicycle. The clock mounts within the rim of the front wheel. The back of the clock is embossed Patd. in Great Britain & France Manfd. by the British United Clock Co. Ld. Birmingham, England. The porcelain clock face is inscribed Manufactured by Ansonia Clock Company New York, United States of America. The clock measures 6 inches tall by 7 1/4 inches wide and is in excellent working condition with a tight crack on the clock face. Some areas appear to have been plated with silver or nickel originally, but that surface is mostly worn away. 2859-71OTP
