Item: Train Engineer Hand Painted Occupational Shaving Mug Kelly
Great piece of railroad history! This shaving mug was used in Barber Shops in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Each customer had is private mug with his work or hobby and inscribed with his name. This example, inscribed Don. T. Kelly in gold above a hand decorated image of a steam locomotive, indicates that he was a railroad employee, perhaps an engineer. The shaving mug measures 3 5/8 inches tall by 3 5/8 inches in diameter and is in excellent condition with wear on the gold trim around the rim and base. 17334-81QQP
