Item: Finley Akers Stoneware Oyster Crock Philadelphia
Rare circa 1890s unusually large (approx. 1 gal.) slip decorated stoneware crock with an ink stamp on the side inscribed Ackers, registered H. G. Finley Ackers was a commercial grocer in Philadelphia during the late 19th century. It has a large 2 diameter neck with an applied handle and blue and white bands of slip decoration at the base and along the shoulder. It is in excellent condition with small chips on the top and base, 6 or 8 all together. 10287-90UIP
