Item: Ocean Liner Porcelain Flange Sign French Vintage
This rare French double sided porcelain flange sign dates from the late 1940's or 1950's and would have hung at the ticket counter in an ocean liner passenger terminal originally. It is decorated in red, white, and blue with an image of an ocean liner on an anchor in the upper left corner and the inscription ici Produits Transatlantique. Transatlantique is well known for their beautiful art deco posters, most famously of the Normandie. I have not been able to find another example of this sign. It measures fifteen and a half inches tall by twenty-one and three quarters inches wide and is in excellent condition with a one and a half inch long chip along the top edge and several small chips along the bottom. 14773-41WPP
